Dating back to the 8th century, Seokguram Grotto, part of the Bulguksa temple complex, is an artificial granite cave containing a 3.5 m high sculpture of Buddha surrounded by portrayals of gods, Bodhisattvas and disciples. Overlooking the Sea of Japan, it is considered a masterpiece in East Asian Buddhist Art.
